CHOSA Africa is a continental hybrid event aimed to promote adequate housing for all, through self-help principles of Cooperative Housing and innovative financing solutions. CHOSA AFRICA is tailored to the needs and affordability of low and medium income earners including farmers, students, women, entrepreneurs, and workers in the formal and informal sectors. A further objective of the Summit is to strengthen the cooperative housing movement across Africa while revitalizing cooperative governance and capacity building.
The theme of CHOSA Africa 2026 is “Catalysing Adequate Housing for All through Cooperatives” and the sub-theme is “Leveraging Digital Finance for Cooperative Housing”.
CHOSA Africa addresses the African housing deficit by proactively creating effective demand for housing. It sets out to explore solutions to the following challenges: affordability and accessibility, community engagement, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, Innovation, partnerships, scalability and innovative financing for inclusivity.
MD / CEO NISH Affordable Housing Ltd
ConvenerDr. Saheed Kayode Yemi Adelakun is the Founder and CEO of NISH Affordable Housing Ltd and Convener of the Nigeria Affordable Housing Finance and Innovation Summit & Expo (NAHFIS). He began his career in the Federal Civil Service in January 1983, rose to Federal Permanent Secretary in 2013, and retired in May 2017. Since retirement, he has served on key national committees, including the Presidential Committee on Diplomatic Missions and as Chairman of a White Paper Committee for federal institutions.
A distinguished professional, he holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), BSc (Management), MBA, and Higher National Diploma in Management & Business Administration. He is a Chartered Manager, Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (UK), Certified Accountant, Fellow of ANAN, Tax Consultant, Fellow of CITN, Management Consultant, Member of the Institute of Directors, and Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants. He is an entrepreneur, researcher, strategic management expert, policy analyst, and public finance practitioner.
